Jersey Shore Gymnastics is a family owned business, owned and operated by The Strickland Family.  The business began July 1st, 2013, and although we are a new business the Strickland Family comes with a combined experience of over 35 years in the gymnastics community.

Jacqui Strickland grew up in Tinton Falls, NJ.  She started gymnastics at just 18 months old and continued through high school.  Jacqui competed up to Level 10 in the USA Gymnastics program.  After high school, Jacqui retired her grips and moved onto photography.  She studied at the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan, NY and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in 2007.  During her time in college, Jacqui continued to stay connected with gymnastics.  From 2003-2007 she worked as a recreational coach and assisted with team.  In 2007 after graduating, Jacqui took a job as the Head Compulsory Coach for a USA Gymnastics competitive team.  In 2011 Jacqui was offered a job as an Optional Team coach.  With her love and passion for the sport, Jacqui made the decision that she wanted to pursue her dream of opening a gym.  In 2013 she opened Jersey Shore Gymnastics Academy.

Kevin Strickland JR, also started gymnastics at 18 months old.  After spending 12 years as a gymnast, Kevin began pursuing other avenues of the gymnastics world.  At the age of 14, Kevin began his journey in Trampoline, which is part of the USA Gymnastics Program.  In 2001, Kevin was invited to be on the Trampoline and Tumbling National Team, traveling around the world and competing for the United States.  In 2005 he qualified and competed at Trampoline World Championships in Eindhoven, Netherlands. In 2006 he won Team Gold at Pan American Championships. After his competitive career Kevin attended Pace University and received a BBA in International Management.

Patty Strickland, has been working in the USA Gymnastics community for over 20 years.  Patty started as a front desk manager of the gym where Jacqui and her siblings were a part of the competitive team.  Soon after, Patty began running the morning class programs as well as coaching the parent/tot, preschool and special needs classes.  In 1997 Patty became a USA Gymnastics Competitive Judge (Levels 2-10) and in 2009 she became a USA Gymnastics Nationally rated judge.  Soon after she became an International USAIGC and JOGA judge as well.  Through judging she became more involved with gymnastics in the state of NJ and has been the NJ State Competitions Chairman for the past 12 years.  Patty is involved in running over 15 competitions a year including NJ State Championships and our very own Jersey Shore Gymnastics Competitions.

Kevin Strickland SR, has been a supporter of gymnastics ever since his children became involved over 25 years ago.  Although Kevin was never a gymnast himself, he has a passion for the sport and for the kids.

Taylor Strickland, Jacqui's sister, began gymnastics at 18 months old as well. She competed through level 6 in the USA Gymnastics program then followed in her brother's footsteps pursuing Trampoline. Taylor was invited onto the JR National Team at the age of 10 and also competed around the world for the United States.  Taylor retired at 13.  Today Taylor is a Flight Attendant traveling the world.
